Spearmint (Mentha spicata) is a perennial that grows to a height of 30-120 cm and thrives in temperate climates. It is widely used in chewing gums, candies and dental products for its fresh taste, promotes fresh breath. Spearmint has been used for centuries for its digestive effects. Its sweet, refreshing aroma is clean and uplifting, making it ideal for inducing a sense of focus and positive mood. Spearmint is very different from Peppermint, making it a milder choice for babies and children with sensitive skin. In cooking, Spearmint is often used in salads, drinks and desserts, but it can also be used in homemade salad dressings and to marinate meats.

Extraction method: steam distillation from leaves

Application:

• Distracted mood
• Apply to toothbrush before brushing for fresh breath
• Add a drop or two to desserts, drinks, salads or entrées to flavour and aid digestion
• For occasional stomach irritation, add 1-2 drops to water and drink

Manual:
Diffusion: use three to four drops
Internal use: dilute one drop in 120 ml of drink
Topical use: Apply one to two drops to the desired area. Dilute with doTERRA fractionated coconut oil to minimize skin sensitivity.
